We are a growing team of independent social workers. We model best practice in assessment, ensuring strengths and risks are clear and understood. We partner with parents and encourage children, where appropriate, to participate in creative direct work and capture this using imagery and analysis. We summarise goals, aims and expectations without use of jargon and in ways that make sense to families. Our expectations are realistic and our assessments, risk sensible.
A trust building approach is what children and families need. This typically achieves better outcomes for children as highlighted within research. At Accolade Families, children are always kept in mind and at the centre.
We see parents as partners, working in collaboration to develop the necessary skills, knowledge and motivation to demonstrate change. We fundamentally believe change within families is possible and that with the right intervention, change can be long lasting.

Our Accolade Family Workers are trained in critical thinking skills and reflection, they are subject to enhanced DBS checks, have attended mandatory in-house training and have valid UK driver's licences.
Our support packages range from observing families in their own homes where it is necessary to provide full supervision around the clock. We understand the intrusion and sensitivity this brings and will flex to suit the needs of each individual and the care plan and will work within the remit of all professional risk assessments to put children first and keep them safe. We can provide both a hands- on approach whereby practical and emotional support is essential and also a hands -off approach to enable families to demonstrate their future independence from services. Each worker is trained to provide detailed and timely reports to an excellent standard for Court purposes.
We are a community who have developed the right climate for social work to flourish! We are always looking for committed professionals to join our growing team.
We value the importance of solving problems as a close- knit community. Our team, although independent, we support one another to get the very best out of being social workers.
Every Accolade Associate has to meet a range of qualitative requirements: a minimum 5 years experience, an enhanced annual DBS check, checkable work history since school, multiple references verified over the phone and a requirement to attend our in-house training modules.
We are available for ad-hoc and temporary contracts to suit your service needs.
We understand the need for sensitivity and data protection and are compliant with GDPR policies.
About the Accolade Families Serrvice
“I just wanted to write a few words to let you know how helpful it is to have you now looking after us on our Fostering journey. Since the start we have found it difficult being nearly 200 miles away from the front door of social services. Since you took over as our new social worker all of our calls to you have been answered with a listening ear at the other end.”
We commissioned a specialist assessment from accolade as we needed a specialist assessment for a medically complex child. The SW who completed the assessment was very thorough and her assessment has identified a number of different options and avenues to explore to support the young person more effectively. I would not hesitate to commission further work from them in the future
